It seems we in Shanghai are all in for a hot summer. Our GECKO team just got back to town after completing our last module in Guizhou. This time we were talking about energy trends, challenges and business opportunities in environmental fields. The kids were surprised to see how many people are working with the environment these days and how diverse and versatile the environmental job sector can be. They were especially excited to hear that their beloved Jack (Leonard DiCaprio) from the Titanic movie is one of the leading environmental ambassadors in Hollywood. In all three schools, we selected a group of students to be our "ECO Team". They will be working with us until Spring Festival 2009 when we will go back to Guizhou and check on the school's progress. ECO teams are responsible for setting up a "Green Corner" in their library, prepare one community project after the summer break and send us letters each month with updates and photos.

So, what is next? We are very pleased to announce that GECKO has teamed up with FedEx and in August we will be starting with our "Train the Trainer" program for the employees of FedEx in Wuhan of Hubei province. Greennovate will work with a group of local FedEx employees on fundamental environmental facts and actions, presentation skills and activities so that they will be able to work with the kids in the surrounding schools. GECKO team will also implement a full GECKO program for the schools outside Wuhan.
